This Dromedary camel teapot and teacup set is stamped JAPAN Pat.NO.38543 and is traced back to the early 1940s, from the Japanese manufacturer Tashiro Shoten. This was probably a very popular souvenir sold to westerners during that time period. Tres chic, very Casablanca-inspired!
The teapot is in excellent condition and features its original rattan handle, a detailed face and painted colorful saddle blankets and saddle, which serves as the lid to the pot.
The two jade-colored handless cups feature a desert scene of camels, palm trees and pyramids. This collection is in very good antique condition with no noticeable chips or cracks and plenty of lovely crazing.
Sold as a set.
