Harvey is everywhere. People are recovering from Harvey, cursing Harvey and fundraising for Harvey. We’ve heard about some very cool ways to eat for Harvey, too – a way that Houston-area residents can spend a small amount of dough to support relief efforts and enjoy a snack or drink at the same time.

Finally Beginning to Chill Out
Cherry Pie Hospitality’s Lee Ellis has added a flavor called Buffalo Bayou (milk chocolate ice cream, with house-made salted caramel marshmallows, chunks of blondie bars, toffee chips, toasted pecans and a caramel swirl) to his Lee’s Creamery collection of ice creams, featured at Petite Sweets. If you’re an emotional eater and a chocoholic, like I am, this could become an issue for your waistline. All proceeds from the sales of the Buffalo Bayou flavor will go toward the Greater Houston Community Foundation, indefinitely. The GHCF was founded by Houston mayor Sylvester Turner and county judge Ed Emmett and has raised almost $60,000,000 to date. The Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund falls under the GHCF.

Family Style
Event Planning dynamo A Fare Extraordinaire is offering a limited time take on their posh catering services, delivered to your house. The company needs two days notice to put together your meal and they’ll deliver it to your residence for a $25+ fee within Beltway 8. If the price seems steep, consider that each menu item serves 12 to 15 people, so if you know a group getting together to gut a house this weekend or someone hosting a family in their residence while they get back on their feet, a gift of a delivery of dinner from A Fare Extraordinaire would be a thoughtful gesture. Sides like truffle macaroni and cheese, root vegetable mash and proteins such as boneless beef short ribs (photo below) will keep well in the refrigerator — although the chances of there being leftovers after a big group digs into the spread are minimal. Additionally, AFE is donating some of the proceeds from this opportunity to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. To check out the menu for items you can order, click here. The online order form for delivery is here.

#HurricaneHarveyWallbangers (21+)
Several Houston bars and restaurants are selling Hurricane Harvey Wallbangers, with proceeds also going to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. If you’re open to the vodka, orange juice and Galliano cocktail, check out Pi Pizza, Starfish, Moving Sidewalk, Johnny’s Gold Brick, Captain Foxheart’s, Barringer BarAnvil, Tongue Cut Sparrow, Better Luck Tomorrow, The Pastry War and The Nightingale Room. Galliano has announced that in September, 100% of their profits nationwide will go to the fund. Some participating bars are donating $1 from each Harvey Wallbanger sold, others are donating the full dollar value of the cocktail. If you’d rather add a bottle of Galliano to your home bar instead, a purchase this month from Spec’s will also contribute to the relief fund.
