Willie G’s Seafood & Steaks will have a new home come this fall, when it moves into its fancy new digs at The Post Oak, Tilman Fertitta’s multi-use luxury development located in The Galleria/Uptown area along West Loop South. The restaurant began construction March 29.

The transition to the new restaurant building will be similar to what Houstonians have seen between the original Grotto near The Galleria and the newly-opened Grotto Downtown (also Landry’s/Fertitta establishments) – long-time customer favorites will remain, but the menu will get new, vibrant additions, as will the interior design. The new restaurant is expected to boast “both indoor seating and expansive outdoor patio dining among lush oak trees and Willie G’s signature oyster bar,” according to the press release. Willie G’s will continue to operate out of its current location at 1605 Post Oak Blvd. until the new location at 1600 Post Oak opens in the fall.

The 10-acre Post Oak development broke ground in April 2015 . What can Houstonians expect? A 38-story, 495-foot tall tower with an adjacent expansive ballroom. The tower will accommodate 250-luxury hotel rooms, more than 150,000 square feet of boutique office space, and 20 residential apartment units, plus a Bentley and Rolls Royce showroom and direct helicopter pad access according to the press release and the new Facebook page for The Post Oak at Uptown Park development. Additional amenities will include a two-story spa and salon, luxury retail, over 1,000 parking spaces and more.

Hungry and want more? Mastro’s Steakhouse, which is also currently under construction, will open its first Texas location within the development.
