This past Wednesday evening, more than 100 photographers and hungry Houstonians gathered at MKT Bar for the opening of the photo exhibit Feast Your Eyes: Food Photography From Across Texas, on view now through July 9.

This food photography competition is a first-ever collaboration among My Table magazine, Houston Center for Photography and MKT Bar. The competition issued a call for entries in early January, and we were stunned by the number of amateur and professional photographers from across Texas who submitted work. My Table editors and HCP representatives worked together to select the photos on display at the exhibit and in the pages of our special-edition June-July issue, now available on newsstands.

The Feast Your Eyes exhibit at MKT Bar presents work from more than 20 Texas-based photographers, from amateurs to professionals, showcasing the colorful and diverse aspects of the food industry. The juried exhibition features an array of images highlighting farms, restaurants, markets, kitchens and the table. The magazine showcases the work of more than 30 photographers.

Warm congratulations to Nick de la Torre, our June-July My Table cover artist and grand-prize winner in the adult category. We also congratulate Emory Irvine, age 13, grand-prize winner in the youth category. Each received an honorarium of $250.
